Competition Rules for the NIKEiD - Euroleague Design Awards
Design a basketball shoe for your favourite Euroleague baller and you could be winning great prizes from NIKEiD!
These rules (hereafter “Competition Rules” or “Terms and Conditions”) are applicable to all participants in the NIKEiD – Euroleague Design Awards.
1. Who can participate in the NIKEiD – Euroleague Design Awards?
The competition is open to any visitor of www.NIKEiD.com/Europe or www.Euroleague.net who is 13+ years old and older.
If you are under 16, you will need the consent of your parents or legal guardian to enter into the NIKEiD - Euroleague Design Awards.
Employees and family members of NIKE and Euroleague are not eligible for participation.
2. How will the competition run?
The competition will run from Friday, January 4th to Monday February 4th.
You can choose to design a shoe for any (or all) of the nine players featured in the players gallery. The contest consists of 4 stages:
1. Regular season – this will run for two weeks where you and your fellow fans can design for any of the nine players participating
2. Playoff Round 1 – on Friday, January 18th, six of the nine players with the most designs submitted will remain in the competition
3. Playoff Round 2 – on Friday, January 25th, the three players with the least designs submitted will be eliminated
4. In the fourth and final week (from January 25th to February 4th), the player with the highest number of designs submitted will be announced, who will then select his favourite design!
3. How to participate and win a prize
No purchase is necessary to take part in the NIKEiD - Euroleague Design Awards.
To be eligible to win a prize, you must:
1) Choose to design a shoe for any (or all) of the nine players featured in the Players gallery on www.euroleague.net/devotion
2) Design a basketball shoe for that player(s) by clicking on his picture; this will redirect you to the Basketball category on www.nikeid.com
3) Once your design is complete you email it to whatever@euroleague.net using the “email” button underneath your design
4) Please ensure to:
o Enter a valid email address for yourself
o Enter a short description (a so called tag line) in the body of the email describing why you believe your design is best suited for that player (adding the tag line is optional)
5) Once your design has been received by the Euroleague, you will receive an email from the Euroleague confirming your participation as well as asking you if you would like to become a Nike member so you can enjoy exclusive benefits!
You are entitled to submit designs to the contest as often as you like. For each design you will have to go through the above submission process. The design must comply with the rules set out in the NIKEiD competition rules. These NIKEiD competition rules can be found under the header "help" on the NIKEiD website.
Winners
There will be 5 winners
Winner 1 – Best design.
The player who has received the most designs will choose the best one among them thus determining the winner
Winner 2-5 – Runners up
The 4 runners up will be determined amongst all the designs submitted for the final player. The winning designs will be selected by a panel of judges appointed by Nike. The participants, who have in the sole opinion of the panel of judges appointed by NIKE, submitted the 4 best runner-up designs will be the winners.
Prizes
Winner 1
– a meet and greet for two with the winning player
– a personalized pair of shoes of their own design
Runner-up 1
– a personalized pair of shoes of their own design
– a voucher for www.NIKEiD.com
Runners-up 3-5
– vouchers for www.NIKEiD.com
All winners will be notified in writing by email on or before February 11th 2008. Winners need to confirm acceptance of the prize by Monday, February 18th, 2008. If no timely acceptance has been received by Euroleague, winner loses the right to claim the prize; the prize will be cancelled. Prizes are non transferable.
Competition schedule; organization
The competition will run from Friday, January 4, 2008 to Monday February 4, 2008.
This contest is organized by Nike Retail Netherlands B.V., Colosseum 1, Hilversum, the Netherlands (“NIKE”) and Euroleague.
This contest is void where prohibited or restricted by law. Euroleague and NIKE reserve the right to exclude entrants when they do not meet the requirements set forth in these Competition Rules for the full duration of the contest.
Nike disclaimers
Neither Euroleague nor NIKE is responsible for undeliverable or unreadable e-mails submitted or for any computer malfunction in connection with any entry.
Euroleague and NIKE may withdraw, edit or delete any design or email text that in the sole judgment of NIKE violates these Competition Rules or the NIKEiD competition rules, or which may be offensive, illegal or violates the rights of any person, or in any way brings the competition, NIKE and/or its brand name into disrepute.
Entrant’s declaration
Entrant agrees to be bound by these Competition Rules when entering the NIKEiD – Euroleague Design Awards by submitting their design to the email address specified under 3.3 above.
Entrants are solely responsible for the design(s), votes or tag line(s) (hereafter: “Submissions”) they submit. Entrants understand that the Submissions will become visible on the Euroleague website and that may become visible on the NIKEiD website as well. Entrants represent and warrant that: (i) they are free to enter into and are fully authorized to enter into this competition: (ii) the Submissions they have contributed are original; (iii) they have obtained the consent of any party whose work is included in the Submissions so that Nike may use the Submissions as permitted under these Competition Rules; (iv) the posting of the Submissions on the NIKEiD and/or Euroleague website or any other Nike website, or the use by Nike of the Submissions as permitted under these Competition Rules, shall not violate the privacy rights, copyrights, contract rights or any other rights of any person. Entrant agrees to indemnify NIKE in respect of all royalties, fees, and any other amounts owing to any person by reason of the Submissions being posted on any Nike website or by reason of Nike using the Submissions as permitted under these Competition Rules.
All intellectual property rights in the Submissions shall vest in Nike. Entrant agrees to hereby transfer any intellectual property rights entrant might have in the Submissions to Nike the moment he submits his/her Submissions to the competition (which is the moment the entrant submits the electronic entry form to Nike), to NIKE. To the extent the above transfer of IP rights is not valid, for example due to the fact that certain procedural formalities need to be fulfilled for the valid transfer of the intellectual property rights, entrant shall provide Nike at Nike’s request with any and all cooperation to arrange for the fulfillment of such procedures, or otherwise. Entrant hereby agrees to grant to Nike an unlimited, exclusive, royalty free and perpetual license to use its Submission in the widest sense of the word, including but not limited to editing, modifying, publicly performing, publicly displaying, broadcasting, digitization, reproduction, sublicensing and distribution, anywhere in the world.
Entrants agree that they shall have no right of approval and no claim (including, without limitation, claims based on copyright, design right or other intellectual property rights) arising out of any use by Nike of the Submissions. Nike shall have no obligation to use any of the rights that the entrant grants in this clause.
Entrant acknowledges that Nike does not provide for any insurance, whether medical, travel, cancellation or liability, or other, for any illness, accident, injury, loss or damage that may arise in connection with the participation in this competition or the execution of the prize.
Entrant acknowledges that Nike strongly advises any prize winner of under 18 to be accompanied by a parent or guardian on and during the trip to meet the player the entrant designed for.
Entrant acknowledges that should any taxes be applicable to the prize, these shall be the responsibility of Entrant.
Use of personal information
Any personal details of entrants contained on the contest application form submitted to Euroleague Basketball will be included in the Euroleague Basketball Database, which is owned by EUROLEAGUE BASKETBALL, S.L., with address in 08037 Barcelona, Passeig Olímpic, 5-7, for the purposes of executing the NIKEiD - Euroleague Design Awards and for sending to the entrants newsletters and information about the promotions launched by Euroleague Basketball together with its sponsors. These personal details of entrants will also be used by third parties and sponsors of Euroleague Basketball to send the entrant communications and/or promotions.
The participants’ personal data will be processed by Euroleague in accordance with all national and international applicable data protection laws. Entrants can exercise their s rights to access, correct, cancel or disagree with the information provided by Euroleague, by writing to Euroleague Basketball, S.L. to the above-mentioned address, or to marketing@euroleague.net, clearly indicating name, surname and address.
